Greetings and Good Day,

My name is Joseph S. Breese... I am a Telecommunications Technician with the United States Senate - Sergeant at Arms, based on Capitol Hill. I currently carry a BICSI Technician-level certification and I am studying to take the RCDD. Although our department's main functions are Office Communications Service & Support, I gravitate toward all large-scale installations due to my background in this area, and that is where I am the happiest. I have several years' experience performing installation of Fiber and Copper, as well as Networking Equipment. I am experienced in using an OTDR and other fiber diagnostic equipment, the Fluke DSP4300 and HP WireScope 350 and the new WireScope Pro, for 10GBe. I use Visio to create and edit all of our project drawings and I am training on the use of Bentley MicroStation, for the same. I am experienced in fiber splicing, fusing and termination, (Polished and Unicams). My interest in these fields extends far beyond simply earning a living.

This interest quickly grew into a passion while servicing as a contract technician (d.b.a. OS Limited.), for General Communications Inc. (GCI) in Alaska performing maintenance and repair on the Satellite Earth Stations located in northern Alaska villages. What began as a contract for simple Dial-Up testing, escalated into a Technician position performing troubleshooting and replacement of RF Converters, Channel Bank Cards, 4-Wire E&M Cards, LnA's and Annual Dish Re-Peaking. The ability to educate myself on the Earth Station's equipment, testing tools and procedure's attests to my high level of trainability.

My best references would certainly come from the people I work under currently, and have worked under in the past. Although my resume` reflects only Telecom experience, I have served as a Pressure Control Specialist, (Slickliner) working on devices within Oil & Gas Wells, while the well is still under formation pressure. I have, as recently as 1999, held Alaska State certifications for Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, Hazardous Materials Response, Containment and Incident Command, Emergency Medical Technician I, Fuel Tank Farm Operations & Maintenance.

What has this to do with the position I seek? Your department/ Company/ Division could not employ a more trainable, versatile, resourceful and congenial individual than myself. "What are my strongest attributes" you might ask?

Trainability, and the ability to make Gold out of Straw
